Based on a true story, Strong is a powerful one-woman show following Elena, a 40 something British Greek Cypriot single mother of two, whose world is turned upside down when her 15-year-old daughter Lia is diagnosed with cancer. 

Thrust into a new and unfamiliar reality, Elena finds herself in a state of constant chaos as she navigates caring for her children, endless hospital visits, holding down her spiralling career and keeping up with her friendships. With a global pandemic in full force, the stress of football results, and trying to balance the demands of her well-intentioned but often overbearing big Greek Cypriot family, Elena desperately tries to maintain some sense of normality and identity. 

To process these overwhelming events and emotions, Elena takes to walking. As she walks, she shares and explores her fears and stories, sometimes through her thoughts and other times through her heartbreakingly honest voice-notes to her best friend Charoulla. 

Elena's journey becomes increasingly challenging. She is not only carrying her own emotions but also the expectations, fears and hopes of those around her. 

Despite the heaviness of Elena's circumstances, Strong is ultimately a celebration of the human capacity to endure, adapt, and find hope even when life feels unbearably heavy. Through her struggles and triumphs, the show invites audiences to reflect on their own experiences with loss and adversity, and to find inspiration in the enduring power of the human spirit. It reminds us that there is strength to be found in vulnerability, love, laughter and the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.
