Who we are:

Lewisham Youth Theatre (LYT) provides FREE participatory theatre activities to young people aged 8-24, helping them to develop enduring and transferable skills that lead to increased life chances and long term well-being. We bring young people together from across the Lewisham community to create outstanding theatre in an environment of high expectations and collaboration. We work from the core belief that artistic excellence is key to expanding young people’s horizons and creating lasting transformation.

What Activities Are Available?

LYT offers courses in drama, performance and technical/backstage theatre, lasting from 5 weeks to 5 months, with longer projects culminating in a performance at the Broadway Theatre Studio.

Members also have the chance to learn more about the creative industries through theatre trips, backstage tours, special workshops at places like the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and panel discussions with professionals from across the creative industries.
